About us
More Than Flags and Rainbows is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to make all schools and colleges more inclusive spaces. Founded by Ian Timbrell, we have experience working with schools across the UK and have delivered in-person and online training to thousands of teachers.

Our collective has a range of expertise including working in primary, secondary and tertiary education, ​special schools, PRUs and in the corporate sector. Working with us, we will ensure that you get the people you need to help you on your journey.

We know that these are challenging times for schools and so we access grant funding and raise funds through partner organisations, to keep costs low for schools and provide some services for free.
​
We can't wait to work with you and look forward to partnering on a journey to make schools inclusive for all.
About Ian,
our Founder
I have worked in the education sector for 20 years in a range of Education settings, including as an ICT Advisor and a Deputy Head Teacher. My work with schools has been recognised in inspection Case studies and my previous Primary School will become the first Primary School in Wales to achieve the Proud Trust's Rainbow Award. I was thrilled to win the Mental Health and Wellbeing Award in 2023 for my work in education.

I am a father to my amazing 10 year old son, who we adopted 8 years ago, and I'm often found to be tweeting about books I'm reading, grammar, LGBTQ+ equality, life as a dad, or education in general.
